WINTER IS COMING
As the season's transition, so does our skin. Yes, winter is coming, but don't fear, with my tips and tricks, your skin will look summer fresh year round! The key is to hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. I always start prepping my skin for winter in October, so when winter does arrive, it's ready for battle.
To keep your skin healthy and moisturized during the cold and dry months, be sure to drink tons of water. On a normal day during spring, summer, and fall, I drink 6 glasses of water but try and kick it up to 8 glasses of water in the winter and even more on days I exercise.
In addition to drinking water, you have to hydrate your skin. For my body, I love Kiehl's Creme de Corps body lotion and use it daily for best results. Since I go through body lotion rather quickly, I also love this budget concious product, Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion. Don't forget about moisturizing your hands. For every time I wash my hands, I try and apply hand lotion right after. I am obsessed with Kiehl's Hand Salve. THE BEST. And believe me, I've been experimenting for some time with hand lotions and now swear by this one!
For my face, I tend to switch it up so my skin doesn't get too immune to one product over the other. I always wash my face daily with a cleanser, even if I'm not wearing makeup. RIght now, I love Neutrogena Deep Clean Daily Facial Cleanser Wash (budget-friendly and good for normal to dry skin). If you are willing to splurge on your cleaner, you won't go wrong with Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser (great for sensitive skin). I like to cleanse my face in the shower, right before I get out since my pores are most open then.
After cleansing, I always moisturize my skin ASAP. I will use Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel in the morning, it is super nice and light but also gets the job done. At night, I switch it up with between Glossier Priming Moisturizer and Jergens Natural Glow Face Moisturizer. This Jergens product is great because it has a natural glow to it, to keep up that summer look, but I don't recommend every day since it has a tint in it.
To top it off, chapstick for the lips. I swear by my Carmex Original Tube Lip Balm and use it 2-3 times per day. Lately, I've been loving the tinted balms like Dior Addict Glow Color and Maybelline Baby Lips Glow Balm (much more affordable and the same effect).
